Storyline
Synopsis: In 1478, the 14th year of the Chenghua Period of the Ming Dynasty, Tang Fan, a 6th rank magistrate, and Sui Zhou, who was a “zongqi”, a low-ranking officer in imperial guards, worked together to solve the mysterious murder of a marquis’s son. The two had gained reputation and become bosom friends during the process. Although he became famous, Tang Fan, being a clean-handed official, still lived in a rented house. One day his landlady, the kindhearted Ms. Zhang died inside a locked room. But Tang Fan found out this seemingly suicide was full of questions.
